Lot to go but this is my first experiments into a HTML 5 game. This idea of mine has been around for a while, finally happening. HTML 5 making it so easy for me, so hope to have a fly through by end of the week. Animations etc, once Paint.net co-operates
I’ve been working my way through a few books on java just to refresh my memory of it all. Its no different to any other high level language really, having fun playing with android features, nice to be able to create and run my tests on the phone itself. Using Eclipse as my dev environment, as its easy to set up and does updates etc for you.
Hope to post stuff here as I get on and do things for realz
So after my rant about APB reloaded asking me if I wanted to use my steam account to create an account, and then wanting me to sign up as well. I decided to try another free2play game on there CrimeCraft GangWars. 10gig download clicked play, opens browser to create an account. Grrrrr! I am on steam, why would you put steam achievements in your game but not have a steam login!
I’ve decided I will not be playing any game that requires me to create a new account from now on if I get it on steam. Developers need to implement the platform correctly. I don’t mind creating characters etc, thats part of the fun of some games, but make it easy for me to download AND play.
It’s probably a 1st world problem but, how does anyone find enough hours in the day to play every game in their collection, I have years of stuff I haven’t finished yet, and trying to fit time in and write games of my own is getting to be impossible, unless I drink gallons of coffee and never sleep.
Note to publishers putting their games into steams free2play section. If I have a steam account you do not need me to sign up again to join your game. I have a steam account. I’m not going to sign up to anything else, if you want me you have to be happy with my steam id because that is what your game is running on.
In this case the game APB reloaded. You say I can sign in with my steam account then, you take me to a website to get an account anyway! WTF!
Its 2012! Yes the year we launch our stuffs. Wanted to just say here and now, that I found out over the last few days there is another stasisgames. It not us, it’s a game called stasis. They have not been in touch or anything, but until they do I will continue as I was.
The coming year I plan to post here everyday, I want to post my gameplay videos, links to new free2play games I find, offers I see on steam and anything really game related. I hope to make this a community site, it will take time but we have plenty of that.
Hope 2012 will be a great one for you.
PS. I got my first steam achievement for 2012 already. I should have had it before but only last night played as Bill in the single player game The sacrifice. I love L4D1 and 2 by the way
Also if your interested in some blood splatting I posted this 5 second clip of me using the axe
Had a slight deviation from the stasis projects this week due to other client work, that will be helping to finance all of this. Hope to get back on track soon. Have though read a lot more books on DirectX and 3D programming, my projects may get steered more in that direction, my original concept was for a few 2D games first but as 3D development is so much easier with XNA and such I may just add a few 3D effects that I think will spruce things up a bit.
I have a few ideas to make our games unique too but that requires me to do a bit of experimentation. If all goes to plan the coming weeks I will post details here, along with small experimental demo’s etc.
If you would like to support my stasis projects please contact me on support@stasisgames.com and we can have a chat about it.
Working hard to get a very very closed alpha of the new site working. My plans are to have a closed beta sometime in the New Year. Please keep checking back for progress reports etc.
After much background stuff that has not allowed me to see what it was I was working on, I finally this week made the breakthrough into visual stuff. It’s all looking very good so far, the games, the new site. Hope to tell you about it in a month or two if not sooner.
